You and your lawyer friends wake up with restraints on, suddenly a video comes on, “You and your vermin friends sure do enjoy playing with people’s lives every day. The countless families that were destroyed by playing with the law to get your clients out of jail time definitely pays for your BMWs and mansions. I too, enjoy playing games and this time we will be playing a game with your life at stake. The game is simple, survive for an hour and simply exit. You may lose a few limbs along the way but that’s a small price to pay to keep your precious life of yours.”
A game based on the movie Saw? Sign me up! This is one of my favorite movies!
The others I went with, however, needed a bit more convincing. They do not enjoy horror as much but really wanted to try Escaparium's new game.
This is another game that is hard to describe without giving away too much.
The game is beautiful, everything in this game is extremely well thought out. By far the most immersive game in Montreal at this time (I think maybe even a bit more than Tyranno). Everything from the look to the puzzles to the introduction (Best intro ever!!!) to the props, the light and the sound.
Do yourself a favor and don't just try to solve every puzzle as fast as you can, take the time to listen and look around at what's happening during the introduction, the game itself is easy enough that taking the extra few seconds to appreciate the game in full will be really worth it.
The introduction brings you right into the story, it's extremely immersive and interactive. By far the best introduction we've ever seen in the Montreal region. Props on this.
If there's one downside to this game, it would be the difficulty. If you are a group that has done hundreds of games, it will be very easy. The puzzles are all cool and all very much in theme but they are pretty easy. A lot of stuff we've never seen but still pretty intuitive.
Nonetheless we oh so recommend this game. The rate at which Escaparium is improving their games every time, we just can't wait to see what their games will look like in a couple of years from now.
Despite the game being easy, we highly recommend this game. The wait list is pretty long, you need to book 2-3 weeks in advance if you want to have a place but don't miss out.
